Great Ways to Shop at a Kitchen Store

Monday, July 18th, 2011

If you love your kitchen, you could probably wander through a kitchen store for days. In your mind, you’ll be trying out tile, countertops, and cabinets in your own kitchen, preparing for yet another remodel. This isn’t always a healthy or smart way to shop, though, especially if you ever want to actually get that remodel done. Before you head to the kitchen store the next time around, try one of these shopping methods to help you complete your trip more quickly and get to the remodeling part even faster.

On some trips, you really do just need to look around. This is true if you’re getting ready to do a kitchen remodel but aren’t quite sure what you want to do. In this case, take a notebook. If the store manager will let you, take a camera to snap some pictures, as well. If you’re going to paint your kitchen, grab some paint chips from the hardware store to take along, as well. On this trip, all you’re doing is gathering ideas and taking notes on the colors, textures, and particular items that you like best. Make sure you’re descriptive enough that you can actually remember what you were looking at when you wrote down your notes!

Once you know what you need, it’s time to start making lists before your next trip to the kitchen store. If you’re like a lot of people, your remodel will go in stages. You’ll probably head to the store more than a couple of times during a full remodeling session. Think through all the things you need to do and the order in which you need to do them. If, for instance, you’re painting your cabinets and replacing countertops, you’ll probably need to rip out the old countertops and then paint the cabinets before replacing the countertops again.

Either way, at this point, you should be going into the kitchen store armed with a detailed list of everything you need. Write down measurements, quantities, and as much other information as you can. This way, you get just what you need, and you don’t have to come back to the store when you aren’t ready to be back there quite yet. This will make the remodeling process work more quickly so that you can get your kitchen function and beautiful before you know it.

Rational KItchens in Sheffield. The Best Way to improve your home from The Kitchen Store

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Here at the kitchen store, Abbeydale road, Sheffield we help many of our customers out with home improvements. We get a lot of property developers who buy a house as a project to improve and sell on for a profit.
The best ways to do this is to add on living space. Make the existing space more usable, improve the bathrooms and kitchen. We have many ideas just for the kitchen on our website RationalGB. We help and advice many of these developers in all aspects of property developments. One other important area that developers seem to miss a trick, is the front of the house or the first impression a potential buyer sees, and the garden.

Many many people make mistakes by not paying any attention to the garden, especially if it is a family home. As I said at the start, more living space means more money people are willing to spend. Small extensions or clever extensions do not cost a lot of money. However you do need to do your home work. Is what you are going to spend going to get you the return.
With regards to the kitchen, many developers get wide eyed at our Atmos range. Or the Glass Logic Rational Kitchen. You can see the designs here at Rational Kitchens GB. They also want the granite or Corian worktops. But mostly they want to spend a fortune on the kitchen and bathrooms, money that will not get back. We try to steer them in the direction of a Neos kitchen, but not in the glass finish, maybe the urban or a high gloss. The most popular decision seems to be the Arte Kitchen from Rational.
Adding a downstairs toilet gets you lots of money back on your investment, and try to sneak an extra showroom in or maybe an en-suit. Some of the more glamorous projects we have been involved in have been when many small rooms have been knocked into one large living space or combined living. Then we can really go to town and use the stunning straight lines available from the Rational Kitchen Range.
All of our design work is carried out on our bespoke design software. We produce fantastic designs and they are presented in a virtual 3d model of the building in which the kitchen is going to be installed. We print out full photographic images of what the kitchen is going to look like. This really helps the developer to understand just what he is going to achieve. Our software is that advanced that in some cases, when you compare the computer generated 3d image with a photograph of the finished kitchen, the computer image looks better. I have produced hundreds of designs for clients and carried out hundreds of projects from my kitchen showroom, The Kitchen Store, Abbeydale Road, Sheffield and I look forward to doing hundreds more. If you require any help or information please get in touch via my website, there is a link above and a link below, I hope.. kind regards Eddie Grant.

Rational Kitchens

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

In the ever accepting world of the throwaway society it’s nice to be able to find a manufacturer like Rational Kitchens whose policy is to manufacture a cabinet that will last at least 25 years. I also supply Miele appliances that have the rational of thought. They manufacture appliances to last more than 20 years. They back this up by keeping spare parts for all models of any appliance for 20 years. It is sometimes hard educating the potential customers that visit my kitchen studio, The Kitchen Store, Sheffield, and Yorkshire that my kitchens will last in excess of 20 years. They sometimes have a cynical approach due to the fact that all kitchen shops are claiming the same. it soon becomes apparent when I start to dismantle one of my displays to show the build quality of the cabinets, after all its all about the cabinet, hinges and drawer runners, not the fancy door that any kitchen manufacturer can put on a carcase to make it look a million dollars.

Rational really are the innovators when it comes to new features. They are constantly striving to better the already fantastic storage solution available and making the kitchen more agronomical than before. With new new ideas, comes new technology and Rational Kitchens are always investing in the new ideas and technology. It’s just a shame that after a year all the competitors have copied the new ideas. And once they have been around for a while, each and every manufacturer did in fact do this first.

I have made a web site to showcase just what is on offer from The Kitchen Store and Rational Kitchens. Please have a look and let me know what you think. Rational Kitchens Please visit my website. The new Atmos and Logic Book matched Oak & Walnut kitchens are absolutely beautiful. The grain runs seamlessly throughout the whole kitchen. If you was to have an island, the grain runs right round, it is amazing to see. It is hand crafted and I’m sure the man who makes this model is very very patient indeed.

They have lots of ranges available. The new Tio range has been developed more for the developer, apartment builder. It’s the same quality as the main luxury range; the difference is a cheaper door and not a lot of variations of cabinets available. They do not produce special sizes like they do in the luxury range. In the luxury range we can design to our hearts content. The options are just endless. We have produced some truly beautiful kitchens. Every single one of my customers over the last eight and a half has been over the moon with the kitchen. And more so as time has gone on. They are realising as the years go by that they really made the right choice in choosing Eddie Grant and a Rational Kitchen.
